When ever we do calculations, there is data involved. That data exists in a variety of forms (also called types) and is organized in different ways (also called structures). Eventually, you have to learn about these different types and structures, because some of them are better suited for some applications than others, and sometimes it is important to know the limitations of them. This booklet goes through the most common data types and structures in Python calculations in science and engineering. You will learn about the basic types (e.g. numbers, strings, Boolean) and structures (lists, tuples, dictionaries, etc.) and some advanced structures (like arrays and user-defined structures).
Although this is not the most exciting topic to learn about, it is an important part of becoming fluent in using Python, and essential in the long run. You are sure to learn something new in this booklet!
